CO-MAPPS Opens 2012 With A February 9th Meeting - Join Us!
The Colorado Chapter of MAPPS will host its second meeting on Thursday, Feb. 9, at the offices of Merrick in Denver. All Colorado businesses in the geospatial sector are welcome to join CO-MAPPS.

First CO-MAPPS Chapter Meeting Held At CompassData Headquarters in October
CO-MAPPS held its first official Chapter Meeting at CompassData's corporate headquarters in Centennial, CO on Thursday, Oct. 27.
Featured speaker was Jonita LeRoy of the Colorado Office of Information Technology, who is working on the I.T. Economic Development program. The Hickenlooper administration has designated the geospatial community as part of the IT industry, in its effort to bring more high tech businesses to the state. LeRoy asked CO-MAPPS to help the state in creating baseline data about the geospatial industry.

John Palatiello, executive director of MAPPS national, came from Virginia to attend the meeting and facilitated the discussion about how the organization can put together the baseline data the state is asking for, and began a SWOT analysis on the geospatial industry in Colorado.

MAPPS is the national association of business firms in the surveying, spatial data and geographic information systems field. CO-MAPPS chapter dues are only $250; National membership is required to join.
