CompassData Control Freaks in Alaska

In a single month in 2011, CompassData collected 450 Ground Control Points across Alaska, including GCPs in the 1.9 million acre Arctic National wildlife Refuge (ANWR) along the north Alaskan coast.

The GCPs were used to test LiDAR flights

FVA and CVA extra testing points were collected for different land covers (open, urban, brush and forested) In forested areas, the crew used a Total Station for collection, to offer better precision under canopy conditions.
