Ground Control Accuracy
CDI offers three levels of data collection to meet client
needs. Sub-meter accuracy offers little help to a 15-cm
resolution digital orthophoto project; in the same fashion,
Centimeter accuracy ground control is drastic overkill for
0.8 meter satellite image support. We offer full consulting
services to aid our clients in determining the accuracy
standard and collection density for any given project.
Sub-meter
Accuracy
• Horizontal Accuracy: 50 cm
• Vertical Accuracy: 70 cm
Sub-meter accuracy is appropriate when the ground sample
distance of the imagery is 1-meter or greater.
Decimeter
Accuracy
• Horizontal Accuracy: 10 cm
• Vertical Accuracy: 10 cm
Decimeter accuracy is appropriate when the ground sample
distance of the imagery is less than 1-meter.
Centimeter Accuracy
• Horizontal Accuracy: 2 cm
• Vertical Accuracy: 4 cm
Centimeter accuracy is appropriate when the ground sample
distance of the imagery is 15 - 30 cm.
