Applications: Satellite

CompassData is currently involved in collecting Sub-Meter and Decimeter ground control for the commercial high-resolution earth observation satellite community, providing photoidentifiable ground control points around the globe to support orthorectification of image data collected by spaceborne sensors.

We deploy our collection crews on short notice and travel to wherever there is a demand for data to support image orthorectification. We strive to collect points that will be easily discernable in the high viewpoint imagery, and make every effort to make sure the selected features are in the open to allow visibility even at extreme satellite look angles.

As an additional service, we provide precise coordinates for calibration targets to aid in determining the positioning accuracy of the satellite image platforms, and to provide a backcheck on the initial positional accuracy of the imagery generated by satellite sensors.
